Why To Use Expansıon Joınt Profıles?
- Has been specially developed for high and ultra-high mechanical loads.
- Is a separation profile to provide acting independently of coating products such as Ceramic tile, marble coating products.
- Is resistant to strong acids and cleaning supplies.
- Suitable for use in industrial areas.
Applications and Functions
Onay profile is building movement joint profiles which are manufactured by aluminum, stainless steel (1.4301 quality),
rice and it has no need maintenance. The profile is designed to be fixed to ceramic adhesive under side mounting wings ceramic or natural
stone tile. Therefore, the profile, can move together with the respective covering assembly and the middle part due to the special filling
(6mm in filler) ± 2 mm / (10mm in filler) is capable of movement ± 4 mm. It provide secure edge protection for areas exposed to heavy pedestrian
and vehicle traffic. So, it can be used in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, shopping centers, airports, train stations, parking lots and such
areas used ceramic or natural stone coverings.
- It is suitable for coatings that cleaning by machine.
- It is susceptible to aluminum and alkali materials.
- Cement materials related conjunction with moisture, it becomes alkaline, may corrode depending on the concentration and time (aluminum hydroxide formation).
To block alkali water to accumulate in spaces, the joint of profile with ceramic must filled with plenty adhesive.
- This material is resistant to chemicals encountered in the ceramic coating. It is particularly resistant to fungi and bacteria.
1. Select the expansion joint profile according to the thickness of ceramic.
2. Spread the ceramic adhesive on area that profile is upholstered by notched trowel.
3. Spread the ceramic adhesive to fully covered trapezoidal hole. Spread the adhesive curved on vertical profile of the wing.
4. Fix the near ceramics firmly; ceramic and profile’s upper part must be at the same level. (The profile must not higher from coating surface. It is preferred to be 1 mm below.)
Ceramics must be laid to profile area with plenty of adhesive. Always bring the uncut edge of ceramic near the profile.
5. There must be 2 mm joint between the ceramic and profile.
Fill the joint space between the profile and ceramic completely.
